Coronavirus Support Network in Quainton

The Parish Council has organised a group of volunteers to form an emergency action group for Covid-19 in Quainton. The aim is to offer help and support to all vulnerable people in the village and, in particular, those self-isolating – through choice or necessity.

Can we help you?

If you need help (or know an elderly or vulnerable neighbour who needs help) this group is here to help with shopping, delivery of items and neighbourly support. Quainton Village Stores is offering a telephone ordering service. Call the shop to let them know the items required and volunteers will pick, pack and deliver the shopping. Payment can be made over the phone. (Note the shop’s new phone number Tel: 01296 655599).

The George & Dragon will also offer this service for the fresh meat and vegetables they sell from the coffee shop. (Tel: 01296 655436)

Prescriptions

Do you need a prescription collected? From either surgery, or the Village Store? If so, one of our volunteers can help.

Support

As well as offering practical help, volunteers can be there on the other end of the phone to provide support – particularly important for people who live alone and/or have had to self-isolate and may otherwise feel quite alone and cut off from society. If you need help, call one of the emergency action group members below who will put you in touch with the volunteer in your street/area.

Spread the Word!

Please help spread the word about this group – particularly if you know or live near any elderly or vulnerable villagers, especially those living alone or infirm, and those who may not otherwise hear about the support group. For some, it may simply be enough of a comfort to know we are here.

Names and contact details will be stored securely and only shared with the appropriate volunteers. There is an emergency Whats App group of volunteers who have access to each other’s contact numbers.
